Singlia: Summer Goalz

Question for muh ladies out there.

Do you ever feel like there's way too much emphasis put on your relationship status?

Oh she's been single for a while

She's never single

I've been single for 4 months

 I'm a relationship-type girl.

Shut the f*ck up already.  (please)

Look I get it, I am it.  We have society telling us from birth to look pretty, do our hair, don't get dirty.  Meanwhile, little Jimmy over here gets to jump in the mud puddles while you have to sit still and be bored as hell.  My mom will be the first to tell you that I was usually the one in the mud BUT that still doesn't erase the fact that I was always told to sit pretty and "be a lady" to find a "good man" one day and blah blah fuckin' blah.

Well.  Here's what I'm telling you (and myself).  Forget finding a man, let him find you and if you're ready, you can have all the little babies you want and take super goofy engagement pictures to post on canvas all over your house.

For me, I'd like to enjoy the people that are currently in my life without worrying about what that means for my future or my future babies.  I want to be around the people that stimulate my soul, so that's what I'm going to do.

I want to shift focus girls, shift it to setting massive, or not so massive goalz for yourself.  Whether that be really delving into who you are by meditating every day or getting a tight ass by August, do it for you.  Don't get me wrong, I do want the whole marriage/puppies thing, but clearly that's not where I'm at now.  I can't even remember where my glasses are half the time (under the bed).

Let's turn the whole emphasis on relationship right on it's head and say no I aint single, taken or in between, I'm ME, and that is first and foremost, label-less.  That also means I'm going to be the best version of me you evaaa seen.

Here are my summer self goals, use them as your own if you'd like, if not, create some of your own!

1.  Be Original

This one is directly tied to being confident.

I've never been one to follow the crowd, but it's pretty easy to become that way and lately I've been feeling like I've let my originality slip a bit.  So, putting this into practice will look something like :

taking keyboard lessons, writing honestly, trying really hard not to GAF about what others think and volunteering/activitying by myself because meeting new folk is maybe my favorite thing in the world.

2. Say Yes more than No

Yes.

3. Be kind to myself

We all fall short sometimes, the trick is to treat yourself with as much kindness as you'd expect from the people who love you.

4.  Get a hota$$ bod

Because I feel like an unstoppable badass diva when this bod is in check, plus ya know, health.

5. Be healthy as f*ck

For me, this means veganism.  If you want to chat more on the topic and why I'm super duper keen on it, drop me a line.

6. Be a good friend

This looks different to everyone.  But I want to emphasize my friendships because they do mean the world to me.  Love you all!

7. See family more

I'm lookin' at you Ma, prepare yourself for my presence.

8. Focus on "what is" and not "what if"

In other words, don't let fear in.  BOOM. Roasted.

9. Don't take things personally

This is a biggggg no-no.   Go on brush ya shoulder's off people.  Might be an ego thing but, I need to remind myself that most people are reacting to their own shit.

10.  Save up for traveling purposes

Sister in Spain... what the HELL am I wasting time for.  Savings account=opened.
