Where and Why to Brunch in Mpls
UNION Rooftop:: If you want bottomless mimosas and a DJ
Union is where you want to go if you have all day to drink mimosas, eat some good brunch quesadillas and get tipsy enough to get up and dance when they move the tables to account for the dance floor. It's a hootin' good time with an amazing view. (glass dome rooftop hollah)
Victor's 1959 Cafe:: If you're a foodie and want to try AMAZING Cuban food
Victor's is the cutest little colorful spot in S. Mpls. If you aren't into graffiti or a small, quaint atmosphere, then get outta here. You won't like V's. But! If you want some crazy tasty food and share a great space with some fellow Minneapoli, come to Victor's (but invite me first).
Lago Taco :: If you want a really good omelet and even better service.
Whoever the Hiring Manager is at Lago Taco is a f*cking G. Every single person who works at this little Uptown gem is the best. I don't even like eggs, but the omelet paired with a mimosa at Lago (their mimosas have triple sec in them, yum) is the absolute best combo.
The Copper Hen :: Date Brunch: cupcakes and gorgeous decor
This is a fancy little place on Lake and Nicollet. I would recommend this spot for a brunch occasion or early day date. Is date brunch a thing? Well it should be. *hint hint* There are cupcakes and other cute little things to offer and most everyone is dressed up. They have a super extensive menu including a toast bar and a Farmer's Breakfast.
Black: Coffee & Waffle Bar: Crazy good waffles and European-style coffee
You guys. If you straight up want a deliciously creamy, soft and fluffy waffle, go to Black. They have a plethora of different flavor-stylings or you can build your own. My personal favorite part of Black is that they have bottles lining the window sills with little notes left by their patrons. Grab one of their blissfully perfect coffees, a tremendous waffle and read about what the person before you was feeling during their time at Black. It's perfect.
