Best Mpls/Stp Bars to Watch the Football
It is officially football season all. Whether you frolick around in purple and gold or wear a triangle of cheese on your head, we're all in the same boat when it comes to watching at bars. We want loud fans, good beer and to not have to crank our necks to see those tight little butts.
Here are 5 Mpls/Stp spots to watch your favorite players run around and hit each other.
1. Game: Uptown
Game is the new official gay sports bar in Uptown. The bar is lined with 10 TVs for your viewing pleasure. Or, if you're like me, you'll want to enjoy the game outside. Chill out on the patio; complete with comfy couches and hopefully the bartenders will be sporting little red speedos.
2. Billy's: St. Paul
Billy's on Grand always reminds me of WILD season but they cater to the football fans just as well. Sunday aka Packer game day and Vikings home game day, is also Customer Appreciation day at Billy's. They have a projector, so. There's that. Billy's is the perfect St. Paul spot to catch the game and then maybe take a little stroll by the river. Do not jump in though, you crazy bastards.
3. Herkimer: If you're a Packer fan
This is likely where I'll be. So come join the sea of green and take advantage of some really well made craft beers. Herkimer is a brewpub which for those of you who are new to the brew scene, is like a microbrewery, they brew small-batch craft beer. Typically, microbreweries have their beers made on-site. A brewpub doesn't necessarily brew onsite but I don't have that information on Herkimer so ask someone else.
I'm just here to look pretty and tell you where to drink.
4. City Works: Downtown Mpls
City Works boasts itself as one of the best beer bars. This is because they have 90 beers on tap. 90!
They also have 25 televisions and a DJ during commercials. As both the most impatient human ever and someone who loves to dance at inappropriate times, this is something I appreciate.
This I dare say, may be the place to watch for you purple people eaters.
5. Stadium Bar: North Loop
Stadium bar is what I'd like to call a "hole-in-the-wall" which just happen to be my very favorite kind of bars.
If you're looking for a TV, some greasy bar food and others like you, head to Stadium to watch the game. And, if you get a little crazy or find a lover, Sex World is just down the block. You're welcome.
